Annie Préfontaine, Yoga Teacher, Massage Therapist,

Who is Annie?

On the road to balance

I have always been deeply passionate about sports and nature—two guiding forces that have shaped my life. And with sports often come physical injuries and emotional challenges, as was the case for me with performance anxiety. At one point in my journey, I felt inspired to deepen my understanding of the human body and its delicate balance.

I began by becoming a certified fitness trainer, with the goal of strengthening my body more effectively for my athletic pursuits while gaining a deeper understanding of how it functions. For the past 16 years, I have shared my passion for movement through private and online classes, wellness retreats, and special events.

In 2002, while traveling through Mexico for six months, I discovered yoga. It was an instant and natural connection. After five years of personal practice, I completed a 30-hour YogaFit Hatha Yoga certification in 2007 to explore the art of teaching. I immediately fell in love with sharing this practice and decided to continue my education through numerous workshops, certifications, and advanced training.

Among them was a 150-hour Yoga Therapy certification at Re School in Montreal with the extraordinary Carina Rainsman. This valuable training has enriched my yoga classes, fitness programs, wellness coaching, and, of course, my own personal practice. I have now been teaching yoga for over 15 years through online sessions, weekly classes, retreats, and wellness events.

Driven by a constant desire to learn and to offer a holistic approach to my clients, I also completed a 400-hour certification in Thai Yoga Massage at Lotus Palm School in Montreal. This beautiful healing practice, performed on the floor or on a massage table, combines joint mobilization, acupressure along energy lines, and work on the body's energy points. It also provided an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and the body's energetic systems.

Through strength training, joint mobility, mindful breathing, fluid movement, and deep relaxation, I believe we can cultivate lasting balance throughout every stage of life.

Balance and stability are at the heart of everything I do. We can live lives filled with adventure, exploration, and joy, but for me, the key is experiencing them from a place of strength, stability, and inner balance.

The word Rebelle perfectly embodies this philosophy. To me, it represents the courage to do things differently—with intention, authenticity, self-respect, and respect for our deepest values.

I look forward to meeting you.
